About The Author

POP CHART LAB began as a side project of Gotham editor Patrick Mulligan and Penguin designer Ben Gibson when they were working on a book of infographics together. Using Patrick's editorial background and Ben's design expertise, the two began collaborating on charting pop-culture touchstones–rapper names, a taxonomy of beer types, cocktail ingredients, sneaker designs of the last century–and selling them as posters. In addition to their line of nearly 75 prints, Pop Chart Lab has a woodshop in Brooklyn that offers frames and finishing options to their customers. They have appeared on the Today show and in Fast Company, the New York Times, The New Yorker, Esquire, WIRED, and elsewhere.
