About The Author

Dianne White is the author of numerous children’s picture books, including the award-winning Blue on Blue, Who Eats Orange?, Green on Green, and Winter Lullaby. As a child, she loved reading books, playing music, and learning new languages. Years later, as a teacher, all three favorites followed her into the classroom. By day, she read great books, sang, and even taught kids who were learning English for the first time. At night, she worked on picture books, which she now has the pleasure of doing full time. She lives in Arizona. ★  "The question-and-answer format of the book is well suited to the intended audience. . . . The gloriously colorful artwork evokes a perfect summer day in the country and reminds us to use all our senses to notice and appreciate the signs of life that surround us. A lovely companion book for families planning a nature walk or hike and an excellent curriculum resource for preschool and primary grades."—School Library Journal, Starred Review
