Description

Pete is in a bad mood. It’s raining and he can’t play out. But never fear, Pete’s dad has just the idea to cheer Pete up – turn him into a pizza! He kneads the dough, adds oil and tomatoes, and with some tickles and giggles along the way, before long the sun comes out…A picture book classic from the creator of Shrek; a laugh-out-loud celebration of parents everywhere.

About The Author

William Steig (Author, Illustrator) William Steig (1907 – 2003) was a prolific American cartoonist, sculptor and, later in life, an author of popular children's literature. Most noted for the books Sylvester and the Magic Pebble, Abel's Island and Doctor De Soto, he also created the character Shrek, who inspired the popular movie series.

From its tongue-tantalizing title to its understated but delightful ending, Pete's a Pizza is a tour de force

Other text

[Allan Ahlberg has chosen Pete's A Pizza as one of his top ten picture books, and says:] He [William Steig] wrote and illustrated this book when he was 90, I believe, which is a fact I find hugely encouraging. Also it does have one of the world's best covers ever.
