About The Author | Roma Ligocka was one of the 'hidden children'. Born in 1938 in the ghetto of Krakow, she escaped with her mother when the Germans deported everyone in l943. The cousin of Roman Polanski, she joined his adventures in post-war Poland and then married a theatre director. During her life she has been an artist, costume designer, human rights fundraiser, and mother. She has lived in various European cities and is now settled in Munich. |
This poignant, well-told tale does honour to all children bewildered by horror and injustice and politics beyond their understanding or responsibility |
|
Other text | The extraordinary and haunting memoir of the 'girl in the red coat' – the terrified child from the Krakow ghetto who made an unforgettable appearance in 'Schindler's List'. |
