About The Author

Pierce Brown is the author of Red Rising, the first installment in a science fiction trilogy. Though Brown was born in Denver, Colorado, his origins are a little more diverse, having called seven states home (Colorado, North Carolina, Arizona, Iowa, Texas, Washington, and California). Now twenty-four, he splits his time between Seattle and Los Angeles. Before becoming a full-time writer, Brown spent time working as an executive aide on a U.S. Senate Campaign, a script runner at ABC, a freelance web producer, and eventually an NBC Page. His degree from Pepperdine University is in Economics and Political Science. You can find him on Twitter @Pierce_Brown and Facebook, or visit his blog: http://www.pierce-brown.com

Pierce offers a Hollywood-ready story with plenty of action and thrills

[quote]Darrow is the Reaper of Mars. Born to toil, carved to fight, destined to lead. But he is a broken man. Exposed as a Red in a world ruled by Golds, he has been captured and tormented until he is something less than human. And yet, he is humanity's last chance. In facing a godlike, ruthless enemy, he must call on every last ounce of strength to prove that loyalty, friendship – and love – are a more powerful than any coldhearted machine of war.He has been first Red, then Gold. Now, he must transcend them all. He must become the hero his people believe he is.'You could call [Pierce] Brown science fiction's best-kept secret. In Morning Star, the trilogy's devastating and inspiring final chapter . . . he flirts with volume, oscillating between thundering space escapes and hushed, tense parleys between rivals, where the cinematic dialogue oozes such specificity and suspense you could almost hear a pin drop between pages. His achievement is in creating an uncomfortably familiar world of flaw, fear, and promise' Entertainment Weekly'It absolutely satisfies' Tor.com(pierce brown pic and bio)[thumbnail pb covers for RED RISING and GOLDEN SON]
