About The Author

Yusuke Yonezu was born in Tokyo, Japan, where he still lives with his wife and children. As a child he loved to draw and make toys out of paper and boxes. He went on to study design and became the creator of many board books, puzzles, and toys beloved by children and their caregivers around the world.Yonezu's board books are full of bold colors and help young readers master basic concepts, including counting skills, animals, foods, shapes, and more. The designs help readers of all ages see the world in a new way and discover new surprises with each turn of the page.

“A book offering a plethora of possibilities for interaction (color concept, spatial reasoning, prediction, and types of transportation for a start)….clever, developmentally appropriate board book." — Read On Wisconsin Discussion List / Cooperative Children’s Book Center"Takes things a step further with surprising patterns and eye-teaser spreads….die-cuts enhance the simple, saturated-hued illustrations by adding an element of concreteness — and stretching children’s brains." —Horn Book"These impeccably designed concept books are deceptively simple and pack lots of opportunity for an engaging reading experience. …each page turn introduces vehicles that kids will recognize.  The bright primary and secondary colors against white backgrounds are just right for toddlers.” —School Library Journal
