Description
Re-rooting: Self-Determination and Autonomous Practices continues the conversations started by Darat al Funun’s Re-rooting exhibition. This publication features a diverse collection of contributions, including testimonies, artworks, local interventions, and dialogues, that examine how self-determination and autonomous practices can help us overcome industrialized systems and challenge preconceptions about water politics, agro-ecology, and extractive building practices.
By examining the global crisis of economy and ecology through a local lens, the exhibition attempt to untangle the complex histories and events that have led to our current state of unlivability, characterized by exhausted geographies, imposed scarcities, unjust economic systems, and an irreversible degradation of natural landscapes.
