About The Author | Terry Denby was born in West Ham, London in 1947. After leaving school with no qualifications he became interested in music and began playing the guitar, eventually with bands in some of London's best known hotels. He later acquired an Honours degree and worked as a teacher of Religious Education at a school in East London. Terry now lives in France with his wife and daughter. |
on the theme of an unhappy childhood . . . really moving. |

Other text | Fatherless and pushed into care by his own mother at the age of six, Terry finds himself trapped in a cycle of horrific abuse and neglect. This is a shocking exposé of the 1950s care system. |
