The Truth About The Dukan Diet

Dr Álvaro Campillo Soto holds a European Doctorate in medicine and surgery and specializes in general and digestive surgery at the Morales Meseguer Hospital in Murcia, Spain. Dr Campillo`s interest in obesity relates primarily to his work as part of the "European Obesity Academy" a two year European project (2008-2010) set up by the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm (which awards the Nobel prizes). Dr Campillo received an honourable mention in the Barea awards and the Pfizer prize for Clinical excellence. After coming across a TV programme which he felt, following his own experience of the Dukan Diet, lacked scientific rigour and was untruthful in its examination of the diet, Dr Camillo felt he must act to forward a real and honest point of view about the current state of scientific knowledge on ketogenic diets and the Dukan diet.
