Trapped in an unhappy marriage, her music-star brother is being consumed in a world of drugs, money and wild women, whilst her father risks losing his family’s livelihood.Emily’s problems aren’t helped when she finds herself falling in love with the ‘enemy’, a government man, Luke Bradshaw. As the bill to evict the cattlemen from the mountains is about to be passed, their love seems doomed. And when a savage bushfire sweeps through the mountains, everything Emily knows is endangered.
